I am flipping through CD's at my favorite CD shop and this blue book shaped CD box falls forward and it tells me with a little sticker on the front the music contained within was created by John from FW, Mike From DT, And Kevin from CK and DT. Seriously. If you play or enjoy music by true musicians for muscians/thinking people this double cd will do nothing more than open your mind to what is possible today.
Thank you gentleman.
Here is to hoping fo another one although a bit heavier OSI.
The name OSI implies heavy.
PS Bring Kevin on the tour. Do a couple of OSI tunes after FW's set an let Kevin and Jordan duke it out on a couple of classic DT tunes. This would be the stuff of legend!!!

I was impressed with the instrumental aspect of this project, and I think it was mixed extremely well (especially for a side project), but I think they could have done more vocally -- it just has a somewhat "unfinished" feel. I think Kevin has a great voice, so I was surprised that he didn't use it more -- could have been cool to replace some of the arbitrary sounding samples with vocals to give it a more "song-written" flavor... OK -- chill out! I know it's a prog project, but regardless of the genre, I still dig a good tune...

You guys are sick. (Though everyone is entitled to their own opinion.) This album is full of creativity and and rich textures that are the foundation of prog music. It's great to hear Jim and Mike jam together. I've listened to this album about a thousand times now and it gets better each listen. Maybe you should stick to more generic bands like Matchbox 20 while BBQ-ing in your back yard and leave the real music for people who can appreciate it.

The OSI album was a little bit surprising for me, because it was not what I waited for. I thaught that it will be similar to Portnoy`s Liquid T. E. project or something like this, but fortunately not. The album reminds me an unreleased Chroma Key disc with Jim on the guitars. The guitarsound is exactly the same as on the latest FW album Disconnected. Not easy to listen for the first time, but few hours later the whole album will circling in your head. I extremly love this material! The only thing what I regret, that Sean is just a guest, a littlebit "gray", if you understand, what I want to say. I adore his bass and stick technic on the Cynic, Aghora and Gordian Knot materials.

I think the album as a whole was solid, bonus disc a must.Im first off a Huge Fates Fan and I like DT,so I thought This couldnt miss,To sit there and listen to this coast to coast will kill you, however its solid background music for a party or a BBQ.Its clear to me this will be one of those albums that get better over time like wine.Every time I get a "days of the new"cd,its the same way, dont get it at first but listen to it at strange times and places,Camping,Skiing etc,it works awesome,I took it to Puerto Penasco,Son.Mexico last weekend and played it twice in 4 days and it works on a beach! The girls even liked it!to come home after work and plop this in wont happen to me.B+ Now,its time for Fates Warning!!!!! jc
