Without sounding like a frenzied
stalker,...John Arch's voice is,..to me,..a source of power,..
a link to another world,..PROOF that there is something bigger,.
and better out there,..than we
experience,..on a daily basis,...
the thought,..emotion,..POWER, and
incredible skill,projected in his music,..is a prime example of why REAL music never dates,..it just grows,.....i cannot explain the tremendous joy i felt,.when i got word of Johns return with 'a twist of fate',...and when i HEARD it,....i cannot describe the pleasure,..it still transcends my vocabulary,...i set out writing this,..not wanting to criticize Ray Alder,...because he has a good voice and his application, suits the current style of 'new' Fates Warning,..but
i HAVE to say,..that nothing i have EVER heard,...matches the solace i have in the first 3 Fates

imagine a tour where ray and john both do songs in chronilogical order.john on the first half,ray on the second.then both of them singing together on "guardian" or something.can you say "big metal boner". come on ,just one tour.i love the hell out of ray! but that would crush some shit..

John Arch is unique,however Fates warning would be lost if John replaces Ray.Fates singer is Ray and needs to stay that way.John can do his thing and I will still buy it,but the thought of a singer switch is disturbing and alot of fans will loose attention.Ray stays in Fates,John is a solo artist and all will be fine.

A comment like that (claudio) sounds like jealousy to me. Knowing how awesome "a twist of fate" sounds, certain peoples job security could be very well on the line! lol...well, no, but really- what a masterpiece! hope he does more in the VERY near future!

Wow Claudio! Are you serious? John has a lot of soul and a pleasantly unusual vocal style. Awaken the Guardian is one of the best Albums ever. There has still never been a recording that you could truly say, "hey that sounds like Awaken The Guardian." John and the rest of Fates are to thank for that. Calling him a bastard is out of line. On a side note I think Ray is good but he's lost a lot of his range.
