08/01/2003 Entry: "Fates cancelled from Spokane & Boise shows."
* Sorry for the after-the-fact notice *
From Mike Portnoy:
On behalf of Jim Matheos (who can't get to a computer right now), I am
saddened to announce that unfortunately, Fates Warning has been forced to cancel
their appearances with us tonight in Spokane and tomorrow in Boise.
We are all bummed to announce this (especially as I was to be playing their
set with them tonight in Spokane), but it is a situation out of our control.
We apologize to any disapponted fans....
Mike Portnoy

Hello through Ivory Gate,
I'd just checked this page after long time since Disconnected was released and I am happy to see Frank A. back in Fates Row. It's boring to discover that the boys are still cancelling their announcements, but on the other hand good wine must mature. I am very curious about new album and also for some recent live recordings in line-ups mentioned here. I would like to see FW back in Europe sometimes soon, I got once experience with them on stage so far.

If it's any consulation, they only played for 30 minutes and didn't do anything past "Parallels".
Hey Jim, How's about a 20th anniversary tour with all present and previous members ala YES' 1991 "Union" tour.

Darn....Mike Portnoy playing the set? Blast, that would be awesome, but damn, they cancelled the show, gosh! Shucks... Of course Zonder kicks major ass too, but would be at least incredible seeing Mike performing with the guys.
