08/30/2004 Entry: "FWX limited edition print available"
Dangerous Age Graphics has just issued a very limited edition print (120 prints only) of the upcoming FATES WARNING album artwork, "FWX", at this location: http://www.dangerousage.com/fwxprint.html.
Each print is signed and numbered by the cover artist Ioannis (DREAM THEATER, SEPULTURA, DEEP PURPLE, BLUE ÖYSTER CULT, YNGWIE MALMSTEEN, KING CRIMSON, BIOHAZARD, VOIVOD, UFO, OVERKILL), as well as FATES WARNING guitarist/founding member Jim Matheos and lead vocalist Ray Alder. Ioannis had previously worked with FATES WARNING on the art for the "The Spectre Within" and "Awaken the Guardian" albums.
The marks the first and only time that FATES WARNING have agreed to release such a unique collectible and it is available on a first come, first served basis.
"FWX" is scheduled for release on October 5 through Metal Blade Records. The follow-up to 2000's "Disconnected" was recorded at Carriage House studios in Stamford, Connecticut.

That's great that Dave doesn't think
that the cover doesn't do the music justice. After all why would Matheos and Ray's opinion matter since they were thrilled with it. Also Ioannis in his diary mentions that the art was done
independently of Fates and that Jim picked it for the cover. Never mind that the fan's are raving about it and that the limited edition print ( pricey at that)
is nearing a sell out I am told from the
Fates camp , Dave still decided to bless us with his art critique.
I for one am psyched Ioannis is back
his covers for Fates are classics
SPECTER , AWAKEN ,and APSOG
It will be interesting to see how he develops this from here. My sources tell me that something special is being planned early next year for one of the
remastered classic albums

I have been a fan since 1987. Fates Warning is the quintessential metal band. Ioannis' work as been an integral part of their earlier recordings; a visual compliment that sets the stage for the music. I would love to own his newest creation!!
