He is not oversimplifying anything. Notice that he has a limited time to talk about it, you don´t known what he knows (or what he does´nt know) about politics. On the other hand , what he says is real, may be is you who need some information about US foreing policy.

I would follow them anywhere. But Ray, You need to get a grip on your politics. You can't over simplify topics like this. Enough politics....I live in the states but am planning to see you guys anywhere I can in Europe. I've been a fan for 17 of those 20 years. Sorry for missing the first 3...
