Update from Jim Matheos -

Hi Everybody,

Time for a long overdue update.

Ray, Mark, and I will meet this weekend in Connecticut to start recording our tenth studio release, tentatively titled FWX. After the drums are recorded we'll start tracking gtrs, bass, keys and vocals at my studio. Final mixing is scheduled for late June. If we stick to that schedule I'm told by Metal Blade that we'll make an October release.
Here's the track listing, see if you can guess which ones are still just working titles:
Left Here
Song 6
River Wide Ocean Deep
Another Perfect Day
Dmin pt1 and pt2
Song 10
Song 8
Stranger (with a familiar face)
Wish

Finally, yes it's true Mark will be leaving the band after this recording. Mark has been a big part of our sound for the last fifteen years and his contributions will be missed. But, I think it's fair to say, both sides feel it's time for a change. No decision on a replacement yet.

I'll try to give another update as the recording progresses

Rumor: Mark Zonder to leave FW?

So far this hasn't been confirmed, but here is the info as reported by Blabber Mouth (http://www.roadrun.com/blabbermouth.net/) -

FATES WARNING drummer Mark Zonder has revealed that he has no
intentions of touring with the band in support of their upcoming CD,
due later in the year. Asked by a fan what he hopes to accomplish in
the future, both personally and with FATES WARNING, Zonder
said, "Actually after this recording of the new FATES album, I will
not be touring with them anymore. I am not sure about recordings in
the future either with them. There are many things happening right
now: The MONTROSE stuff, Joacim Cans solo that I will be playing
some festivals in Europe, as well as Glenn Snelwar's album that will
be out in a few months. I am still working with Gary [Wehrkamp,
SHADOW GALLERY guitarist] and D.C. [Cooper, SILENT FORCE, ex-ROYAL
HUNT vocalist] in ALFA-DOG. The future is pretty wide open. I would
love to do some clinics, but we will see."

Mark also mentions this on his website:
