News on the super-group project featuring Jim Matheos posted on www.chromakey.com -

Kevin Moore will be part of a new "Supergroup" project which will have the following impressive line-up:

Jim Matheos - Fates Warning
Mike Portnoy - Dream Theater
Kevin Moore - Chroma Key
Sean Malone - Gordian Knot

The project's name will be "OSI" and the album title will be "Orchestra of Strategic Influence". According to Kevin Moore, the material sounds "kind of Tool-ish (heavy with odd time signatures), with a lot of crazy computer programming, lots of spoken word samples and processed vocals. Parts of it will sound Fates Warning-ish".

The initial writing and recording took place from June 2nd to June 9th, 2002, at the Carriage House Studios in Stamford, Connecticut. Photos are available on the official Dream Theater site.

Mike Portnoy has finished recording the drums, and Jim Mattheos started recording guitars around the second week of July.

On Tuesday, July 16th, 2002, Kevin will be flying to Jim's place in New Hampshire to start recording his keys, programming and vocals. Kevin Moore should be heading back for Costa Rica on August 20th, 2002.

The album will be released on Inside Out Music.

Frank Aresti's pre-Fates Warning band, Demonax, has their self-titled album being reissued by O.P.M. Records -- www.opmrecords.com. This appears to be a legit (with the band's consent) release on vinyl. So those of you dying to hear this album should check it out (and report back here of course!).
